The Tokyu Plaza Kamata is a lifestyle commercial facility that provides the locals of the city with products for their daily needs. On the rooftop of this plaza stands the last candy-colored Ferris wheel of the city. During the 1950s and 60s there was trend of building mini amusement parks on the rooftops of departmental stores making it a fun place for the families during their shopping. But that trend disappeared with time and today the only rooftop Ferris wheel left is this cute little nine-carriage, candy-colored wheel on top of the plaza. The Ferris wheel is 40 feet (12 meters) in diameter and offers excellent views of the surrounding streets and on a clear day one can see a view of Mount Fuji as the ride reaches the top.
