Built in 1837, La Casa Primera de Rancho San Jose is one of the oldest standing buildings in Pomona Valley. Built in an area of 1.6 acres (0.65 hectares), this was the abode of the Ygnacio Palomares that had 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, dining room, 3 fireplaces, and a pool. It was the first home to built of a thick wall of abode bricks This historic house was declared a National Landmark in 1954 and listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
Yorba-Slaughter Adobe, built in the 1850s, is one of the last few typical-styled houses that replicate the ones that were present during the Mexican governance and was built by Raimundo Yorba. After a few years, the house was then bought by veteran Fenton M. Slaughter and hence the name of Yorba-Slaughter abode came into existence. It is a one storey house and is accessible to the public from Tuesday to Saturday. The museum consists of documents and artifacts that enable a better understanding of the way of life of that particular century and group tours are also provided.

This museum has an interesting collection of ancient firefighting engines and other vehicles, old technology and equipment, leather buckets, hoses, ladders, and other items that date back to the early 20th century. The museum is run by local firefighters and volunteers who are very friendly and are responsible for maintaining it. The museum is open on Wednesdays and every second Saturday and is definitely worth a visit when in the city.

The Hathaway Ranch Museum is home to several tools and equipments that were used for farming in ranching back in the 1930's. The large display of tools also includes drilling and mining equipment, that started to be used once oil was found in the region. The Museum is still owned and managed by the Hathaway family, and is an impressive exhibit of the mining history of Los Angeles County. There is also a machine shop within the premises, that displays a range of antique machine tools that ran on flat belts. The property also consists of a Spanish-Mediterranean-style ranch house, where members of the Hathaway family resided.
