Located on the western bank of the Red River, St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Catholic Museum highlights the history of this sect of Christianity in Canada. Founded by the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada, this museum was established in 1967, during the celebration of the Canadian Centennial. The collection at the museum features various artifacts kept by the Ukrainian church like chalices, banners, linen, crosses, as well as garments worn by bishops and priests. A prime attraction here is the mini three-dimensional representation of the Ukrainian Catholic Church.
Located between Manitoba and Minnesota, the Tallgrass Aspen Parkland is composed of prairie grassland interspersed with dense deciduous trees. Wetlands also exist here. Minimal precipitation and dry winds accentuate the rough climate. It forms a haven for animals like elk deer, bears and sand-hill cranes which can be observed by nature-lovers. Though threatened by urban development, this conservation area still thrives, lovingly harbored by environmentalists.
