The Lincoln Depot Museum of Peekskill commemorates the connection between President Abraham Lincoln and the city. Housed in the Peekskill Freight Depot, one of the stops Lincoln’s inaugural trains, the facility has diverse collections related to the President as well as the significance of the city in national history. Open on weekends for public, private tours of the facility can also be arranged by special permission. Regular events, both private and public, are organized here.
The Peekskill Freight Depot occupies prominence in the capacity of a freight depot standing the region of Peekskill in New York. The construction of the historically significant depot dates back to 1890. It is also fondly referred as the Lincoln Depot. The structure impeccably depicts the Stick, Eastlake style of architecture. The depot site has also been added to the National Register of Historic Places. It is a single story building that is predominantly made from wood.
