Mount Jo

Situated at the center of the Adirondack Mountains, Mount Jo towers high above breathtaking landscapes at 2876 feet (877 meters). Two trails snake their way along its slopes, leading all the way to the top. Whiteface Mountain

Whiteface Mountain is one of the highest peaks in the state of New York, located 13 miles (21 kilometers) away from Lake Placid. It offers one of the best vertical drops among the eastern ski resorts and over 280 acres of accessible ski area. It has 88 trails accessible by chairlifts, conveyor lift and a romantic gondola ride. Apart from skiing, the other winter activities available here include ice skating, snowshoeing, bobsledding and many more. It has also hosted winter Olympic events and organizes tours of the Olympic Center. If you can't visit during the winter, they also offer mountain biking during the summer.

High Falls Gorge

Spreading across 22 acres (8.90 hectares), High Falls Gorge is a privately managed nature park famous for Adirondack waterfalls. Take a self-guided walk across new glass-platformed bridges and walkways to reach this wonderful sight. Continue onto other various sites of the park like Climax Forest, and don't worry about directions as there are plenty of informative signage posts along your way. The park is open in both summers and winters, always welcoming you to discover its attractions. In winters you can can snowshoe and marvel at the once cascading waterfalls that will then be frozen. Keeping comfort of their guests in mind, the park also features an on-site restaurant-River View Cafe. High Falls Gorge is a great park to explore and experience nature.
