Soča (Isonzo)

The Soča, also known as Isonzo in Italy, is a beautiful, emerald-green river. Originating in the Alpine valley of Trenta in the northwestern region of Slovenia, the river enters the Adriatic Sea near the coastal town of Monfalcone, Italy. Between these spots, the rivers runs through a number of towns in Slovenia and Italy, making its appearance below the famous Solkan Bridge. Historically, it has been the site of several military operations known as the 'Twelve Battles of Isonzo'. No matter whether you’ve visited either Slovenia or Italy, you have witnessed the river’s ethereal beauty in the 2008 Disney movie 'Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian', during the bridge war scene.
