The Fischer-Hanlon House was once the residence of Joseph Fischer. A fine example of the East Coast Federalist style of architecture, the house is one of the surviving structures of the California gold rush.
The Monkey House situated in the popular University Avenue is a modest performing arts theater that mainly plays host to stand-up comedy and musical concerts amongst other performing arts events. Comedy is offered in this intimate venue to the fans in the form of open mics as well as stand-up shows by professional, established comedians. You can take your own booze and enjoy it at The Monkey House while watching talented and upcoming artists perform and entertain. Although entry is free, small donations are expected to cover the expenses and keep the room up and running.
