The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is located in the city of Łódź in Poland. The ornate church was established in 1884 under the Russian Empire, to a design by Hilary Majewski. The architectural style is Russian Byzantine, as is evident in its decorative features- gilded ornaments, beautiful stained-glass windows, detailed iconostasis by Israel Poznanski. The octagonal domed structure has been a historical monument since 1971, and functions as an orthodox cathedral under the Diocese of Łódź and Poznań.
