Muzeum Olomoucké Pevnosti
"18th-century Site in Olomouc"
Korunní pevnůstka is a historical fortress dating back to the 12th Century. Now converted into a museum, Muzeum Olomoucké Pevnosti showcases the eventful past of the erstwhile bastion of Olomouc. Over 220,000 bricks were used in the construction of this medieval fortification, which remains one of the last surviving bulwarks of the city. Located on Michalská ulica, this Baroque battery's premises are also home to a torso and a guardhouse which date back to the 19th Century. In the later years, it was completely modified and in 1945, it served as an arsenal storage unit for the war troops. Muzeum Olomoucké Pevnosti is visited by war history lovers, who are enthralled by a spellbinding display of war-time drawings, uniforms, photographs and other archaeological discoveries.
