"Training Mill"

Built in the year 1925, De Weyert is a functional smock mill which stands on Lyclamaweg. The mill, which is recognized as a national heritage site, is a traditional eight sided structure with patent sails and five levels. It used to be a saw mill which was located in Gorredijk and was moved to its current location in 1925. The move was coordinated by the Weyert Zeephat who continued to work the mill for the next 45 years until his death. Today the mill is used as a school to teach novice millers and is open for visitors every Saturday.
