"Oldest American Home in Oregon"

Built in 1847, the William L. Holmes House also named as Rose Farm is a treasured historic property and the earliest surviving American home in Oregon City. The name Rose Farm is derived due to the roses planted all around the premises. It is also remembered as a site for inaugural ceremonies carried on for the first Oregon Territory governor, General Joseph Lane. The house is open for tours on Friday and Saturday.
