The Whiteknights Campus that belongs to the University of Reading is finely augmented with one of the finest zoology museums in the form of the Cole Museum of Zoology. The varied collections at the museum site were established in the 20th Century. Prominent Professor of Zoology; Francis J. Cole created the museum, and thus, it gets its name. Much of the museum was refurbished in the year 2004 resulting into enlarging of the main floor area and the overall expansion. It is held in high regards for the approximately 4,000 specimens that it swanks of.
