Glen Canyon Natural History Association
"Tour the Dam"
One of the best ways to the witness the majestic, often controversial Glen Canyon Dam is to take a guided tour. Under the auspices of the Bureau of Reclamation, the association allows visitors to embark upon a journey that offers insight into the inner workings of the dam and its impact. It is smaller than the Hoover Dam, however it does come in fourth in the list of largest United States dams. The tour lasts less than an hour, and the National Park Service guides are knowledgeable, friendly and effective in providing enlightening information.
