Florida Agricultural Museum
"Early Rustic Florida"
Located a short drive away from Plantation Bay, the Florida Agricultural Museum allows visitors a sneak peek into the state's rich rustic past, when early settlers led a fairly simple life. The museum is sprawled across a pretty brookside farm, where a guided tour takes you back to the 16th century, which is when population first settled in the area near St Augustine. In this wonderful 90-minute tour, venture along in an old-time wagon that takes you through pioneer homesteads, early dairy and citrus farms, a dry goods store, and a group of buildings that belonged to the Great Depression era. Watch and learn how early Floridian pioneers went about daily life in an agricultural setting. Kids can also go horseback riding, and pet farm animals. The museum offers guided tours by appointment only.
