"City Business to Rebuild"
A proud building on the central avenue running through the old San Felipe neighborhood, the Casa de la Municipalidad was a dilapidated mansion purchased and restored by the municipality for official use. It sits just across the street from the Iglesia de la Merced, and is itself a superb example of neoclassical architecture. Inside, traces of the colonial city wall are still visible through the well-planned restoration.
