The Parkes Observatory is a radio telescope observatory that was one of the several radio antennae used to receive live images of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. Dubbed as the 'most successful scientific instrument ever built in Australia', the Parkes Observatory is now a popular tourist destination in New South Wales.
