"Historical Lombard Castle"
Touted for its strategic built, Canossa Castle is considered to be one of the most impenetrable castles from the medieval era. The history of this castle can be traced back to the 10th Century. It was commissioned by Adalberto Atto and is perched upon a small hill. The castle included the residential quarters of the prince, along with a convent and a small church dedicated to Sant’Apollonio. It had a three-walled defence structure. Today, though in the state of ruins, this has been declared a national monument by the government.
