"An Ancient Mill"

Slater Mill was built in the late 18th century and was the first mill to harness the power of water in the process of spinning of cotton. Tours of the historical site take you through the three buildings that still boast of some of the original equipment, textile mills, and the water wheel that's still in working condition. Tours are led by knowledgeable and personable guides that provide an insightful look into the history and culture of the regions residents and the mill workers. The ghost tours are also especially exciting and a must try.
