You can almost imagine this bar, with a distinct Oriental flavor that comes in the form of huge Buddha heads, opium beds, Koi carp ponds and of course, the essential candles and incense. Bar Sa Vanh, which means Heaven in Loation, is all this and more. The ambience is further romanticized by the subtle music. It's a sexy place to take someone special. And if you're in the mood for some grub, you can always place an order scrumptious appetizers. Though this is one of the most happening spots in Kuala Lumpur, the drinks' prices are pretty decent.

The Whisky Bar

One of the more refined places for a drink on Changkat Bukit Bintang, the Whisky Bar specializes in rare and imported whiskeys from around the world. Though Scottish whiskeys are generally considered the best, their 200+ label collection includes some Japanese single malts and Welsh blends that might change your mind. Whiskey is available by the glass or bottle and orders ‘on the rocks’ come with ice balls which, the bartender will explain, melt slower than ice cubes. The bar’s decor has an elegant masculinity about it with hardwood floors and leather seating. A live jazz band provides the soundtrack most nights after 8p.
