This private sculling club, first organized in 1860, is located along the scenic Schuylkill River. Master scullers at Malta include former world medalists and national champions, as well as occasional rowers and people who are just discovering this physically demanding sport. A fleet of general-use boats is available to all members and heated rooms allow for intensive off-water training in the colder months. The club provides educational opportunities and supports a racing team for national and international competition. There are currently about 100 members.
