Brewerytown Historic District
"Residential Neighborhood & Former Brewery Town"
It is a neighborhood in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is named so because of the number of breweries that were once located in this region during the 19th and early 20th Centuries. At its peak period, there were more than 700 breweries that operated in this small district. The industry died slowly mostly owing to the Prohibition. There has not been a single brewery in the region since 1987, but the industry seems to have started coming back to the region recently. It is currently a residential neighborhood.
