"Phuket's Biggest Sea Gypsies Village"

Locally known as Ko Siray, this island occupies an area of about 20 square kilometers and is separated from the main island by the small Thajean Canal. Now regarded as being a part of Phuket, it is home to the biggest Thai Sea Gypsies (Chao Laes) village in the area. A hill top monastery boasts a large reclining Buddha statue as well fascinating views of the surrounding islands from the panoramic hill top. Due to the muddy condition of the beach, swimming is not recommended. Guided tours are available.
