An intriguing and unique branch of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, the Museum of Textile in Ceska Skalice is a one of a kind museum dedicated to the textile industry. Founded in the year 1936, it is the only museum in the Czech Republic to have a specialized focus on the history of the textile production, its subsequent development and the various tools involved. The various exhibits and displays encompass the different types of textile material from all over the country and the oldest items date back to the pre-industrial period before 1800. Separate sections have been allotted to focus on the development of the various tools and machines involved in the production process.
