Gawler Ranges National Park is unique for its phenomenal rock formations like the Organ Pipes, formed by cooling lava after volcanic eruptions. Together with rocks in all shapes and sizes, bright green and yellow shrubs adorn the terrain, and the park also houses refreshing water attractions. Favorite among visitors are the Kolay Mirica Falls and Yandinga Gorge. Also notable are the park's natural and cultural sites, including Scrubby Peak, Mount Allalone, the Old Paney Homestead, and the Pondanna Outstation. Visitors may encounter such species as the yellow-footed rock wallaby and southern hairy-nosed wombat, besides spotting a large variety of birds.
