"A Flourishing Attraction"
What is now Lincoln National Park began in 1941 as a Flora and Fauna Reserve on the Jussieu Peninsula. Valuable to both the region's natural and cultural landscapes, the park continued to expand through the latter half of the twentieth century. Today, park attractions range from Aboriginal archaeological sites to the Flinders Monument memorializing British navigator Mathew Flinders. Walking trails are the best way to explore the parkland while scuba and snorkeling make for exciting coastal adventures. Camping is welcome and encouraged at Lincoln National Park, and there is also accommodation available in the surrounding areas.
