"Plant Lovers' Hike"
Iron Mountain Trail is a 3.4-mile out-and-back trail that will take you to the botanical wonderland of Iron Mountain. Over 300 species of plants thrive in this area and there is a profusion of wild flowers blooming during the month of July. Be sure to bring your wildflower field book and a camera! To get there from Sweet Home, drive 35 miles east on U.S. Highway 20 to the junction with Forest Service Road 15. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 15 and you'll reach a parking lot on the right after 0.2 miles. You'll need a Northwest Forest Pass to park at this trailhead.
