Petřín funicular

The charming Victorian Funicular is one of Prague's most popular sights and is run by the public transit authority. The funicular railway route goes from Ujezd, Nebozizek to Petrin. It offers a slow, but enjoyable trip to the top of Petrin Hill which offers splendid panoramic views of the city and harbors a replica Eiffel Tower and a Mirror Maze. A convenient and safe form of transport in undulating, sloping areas, the mini train carriage is pulled by a cable on the steep hill. The funicular, tower and maze date belong to an exhibition from 1891. Although the small train was out of service for two decades, it was restored and reopened in 1985. A popular mode of transport for its functionality and sightseeing, the Funicular Railways are an innovative way to experience the bucolic side of Prague.
