"Prehistoric Refuge"

Located at the edge of the Bohemian Forest the Koneprusy Caves of Bohemian Karst are underground labyrinths of limestone. This ancient cave system gets its name from the neighboring town of Koněprusy and is considered as one of the largest cave systems in Bohemia by archaeologists. Excavations unearthed many hidden skeletons of animal like saber tooth tigers, mastodons, reindeer, wolves, hyenas, beavers, cave bears and monkeys. They also uncovered many human bones from the Neanderthal period and artifacts from the Stone Age.
