Forests for the World

Located just ten minutes west of downtown Prince George, Forests for the World offers visitors a delightful outdoor recreational opportunity. With more than 15 kilometers (9.32 miles) of routes for cycling, hiking, and cross country skiing, Forests for the World is an ideal getaway from the bustle of the city. The trail system has something for everyone, boasting trails appropriate for every age and experience level. Shane Lake, the park's predominant water attraction, is also ideal for fishing. When you visit, stand at the lookout tower and enjoy panoramic views of the entire city and the surrounding greenery.

Two Rivers Gallery

Run by the Prince George Regional Art Gallery Association, the Two Rivers Gallery is a prime art gallery in Prince George. Originally established in 1969, the new facility opened in the year 2000. This splendid art museum focuses on the promotion of local artists and Canadian artwork, through the medium of contemporary art. Further to this objective, the Two Rivers Gallery hosts exhibitions every three months and also offers guided tours of exhibitions to interested visitors. On your way out, shop for handcrafted pieces and accessories at the gallery store.

The Exploration Place

In operation since 2001, The Exploration Place is a museum and a science center. Located close to The Fraser River, the museum offers the perfect opportunity for youngsters and adults alike to learn and understand more about local history, participate in interactive exhibitions and explore technology through the years. Huble Homestead Historic Site

Step back in time as you make your way inside the Huble Homestead Historic Site. Located alongside the Fraser River, the homestead was initially a fur trading outpost. Now one of the most well-known historic sites in the region and an informative museum, the Humble Homestead aims to retell the story of the homestead. From guided tours of the museum where visitors get the chance to explore the exhibits including photographs, documents and old furnishings to hearty lunches and special events, the museum plays host to all. Patrons can also shop for souvenirs and gifts for friends and family back home at the on-site shop. If you are in the mood to glimpse at a slice of history, then certainly head to the Huble Homestead Historic Site.

Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum

The Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum, established in 1986, features relics from the city's once significant locomotive and logging industries. Alongside nine historic buildings and various exhibits, the museum has an impressive collection of railway coaches, plows, speeders, fire engines and railcars that visitors are invited to climb aboard and explore. It also showcases large forestry equipment and houses a collection of chainsaws that dates back to 1938. The Prince George Railway and Forestry Museum offers guided and group tours, educational programs and private events. Visitors should not miss the opportunity to tour the site on the park's Cottonwood Mini Rail.

Paddlewheel Park

A small city park by the Fraser River, Paddlewheel Park is the perfect place to spend a relaxed moment. This little speck of green in the city is a favored spot for a quiet break or even a bit of physical activity in the outdoors.
