The original Irish pub of Leipzig is Noels Ballroom in the city. The club is done in a beautiful, rustic decor with drinks and bottled beers along the walls. This charming little place will make you fall in love with their extensive drinks menu and the craft beers list. They are not really a restaurant but all their food is super fresh and they serve delicious finger food that will go really well with the quality beers.
If you are in the mood to play a little foosball the Kicker's Inn is the place for you to go. You'll find it on Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse in the heart of Leipzig's student quarter Südvorstadt. Every day from 6pm on, semi-pro players, but also raw recruits in the world of foosball mingle and just to have a good time. So even if you haven't played the game before, you are very welcome here. Of course fresh and cold beer is served to go with the games and on the weekends a DJ entertains the crowd with some beats.
Staubsauger is the ultimate destination for relaxation and entertainment. This dim-lit cozy setting welcomes clubbers to laze around and whet their palates with refreshing cocktails, wines and beer. While the energetic crowd grooves to the latest beats, the others try their skills at foosball. And sports fans sit glued to the multiple screens airing their favourite sports! Besides, sneak in on any occasion and you would find this chic place buzzing with power-packed live acts by local and famous artists, and other exciting events and parties. For a zestful night, this is the right place to be!
This place has been named after the great poet himself, but inside a certain degree of relaxedness is permitted. The food is simple, enjoyable and well priced and as a result many young people arrange to meet here for lunch. Cocktail of the month needs little explanation - you get a powerful serving of alcohol at a good price. The wine menu is for almost too good for the down to earth atmosphere and the spirits shelf speaks for itself. Now and again there are readings or small live performances but this is not really a venue as such. Puschkin is for eating, drinking and celebrating and little else, but then, what more do you want?
Take a step back to the 1950s at Bebopalula Restaurant and Bar to revel with the likes of Elvis and Buddy Holly (all impersonators, of course). Enjoy a burger and shake in their American-inspired diner and then boogie woogie the night away to all your favorite oldies hits. Known for their live rock ‘n roll, Bebopalula hosts local talent as well as better-known tour bands on a regular basis. Or take the stage yourself for retro karaoke, which takes place every Wednesday evening. Don't forget your poodle skirt and saddle shoes! -Sarah Saurette
