Uma rica fachada Art Nouveau compensada por um opulento interior Art Déco caracteriza a grandeza de um dos marcos culturais mais notáveis da Cidade do México, o Palácio de Belas Artes. Radiante em sua fachada de mármore Carrara que brilha sob o sol, a cúpula resplandecente do edifício é seu zênite, uma estrutura de cristal que deslumbra em tons de amarelo e laranja. O edifício, construído em parte pelos arquitetos Adamo Boari e Federico Mariscal, foi concebido como um marco para comemorar o centenário da Guerra da Independência Mexicana. Embora os planos para o edifício tenham sido traçados já em 1904, sua construção cessou abruptamente em 1913 devido a impedimentos políticos e estruturais. A construção do edifício foi suspensa por 20 anos, apenas para recomeçar em 1932. Desta vez, Federico Mariscal assumiu a tarefa e concluiu a construção do edifício em 1934. Desde então, este marco reverenciado tem sido o nervo cultural da Cidade do México, tendo recebido desde ópera e dança para eventos de música, literatura e arte. Suas paredes revestidas de murais abrigam o Teatro Nacional, o Museu Nacional de Arquitetura e o Instituto Nacional de Belas Artes.

This is the most important stadium in the country. Its construction was no easy task as the area where it was built was covered with lava rock after the eruption of the Title volcano.
