Museu Paranaense

Established in 1876, Museu Paranaense is the first of its kind in the state and the third museum of the country. Located in the Palácio São Francisco since 2002, this historical museum contains around 400,000 documents, colonial maps of Brazil, archaeological evidences and more. It also has temporary themed exhibitions and offers lectures, workshops and cultural activities. Museu Paranaense has an auditorium, library and a history hall of Parana. The hall gives a complete chronological glimpse of the state and is quite interesting.

Oscar Niemeyer Museum

Oscar Niemeyer Museum is a renowned institution, known for its impressive display of artistic and architectural designs. The building, constructed by Niemeyer, is a work of art in itself. It has a geometrical design, with structures built in spherical and rectangular volumes. The theme of the museum displays are visual art and architecture. Exhibitions held here showcase paintings, sculptures, as well as designs of various structures. The museum is also called Museum of the Eye, because of Niemyer's design of the annex, which symbolizes the eye. Unveiled in July 8, 2003 for the second time, this museum has become a cultural hub for artists and architects across the globe.

Pedreira Paulo Leminski

Pedreira Paulo Leminski, named after Paulo Leminski, the Brazilian writer, is a premier sports and cultural venue located within Parque das Quarries. Situated amid a beautiful wooded area that includes ponds, waterfalls and other scenic natural structures, the arena boasts of a seating capacity of about 20,000 spectators. Featuring an outdoor stage that is often used for concerts and major events as well as a separate cultural space that mainly hosts literary events, Pedreira Paulo Leminski is always buzzing with activity.

Museu do Holocausto

Opened in 2011, Museu do Holocausto is a grim reminder of racial prejudice and hatred through small narratives from survivors, historical documents, photos and digital data. This one-of-a-kind museum aims to educate people of the outcome of intolerance and how it impacts an entire race and generation. Located near the Centro Israelita do Paraná, it only allows 12 years and above inside. For those keen in history, Museu do Holocausto offers a glimpse into one of the darkest times of the past that is quite an eye-opener.

Jardim Botânico de Curitiba

A beautiful flower carpet welcomes you at the Botanical Garden of Curitiba. Boasting a large collection of botanical species and local plants, the garden is a hub for researchers and botanists across the globe. The venue's highlight is its stunning greenhouse, built with white metal and glass, that adds to the beauty of the lush green gardens and flower beds.This property also has a valuable library and an auditorium, and is known to regularly host exhibitions.

Parque Tanguá

Established in 1996, Parque Tanguá was built on the site of an older quarry. Located in the Pilarzinho neighborhood of Curitiba, the park is known for its many natural and artificial features like River Barigüi, two lakes and an artificial tunnel that joins the two. Apart from this, the park also features various other attractions such as gazebos, jogging tracks, a biking trail and a restaurant. Open all week, the park makes for a brilliant visit.
