Dating back to the 19th century, Mathildenhöhe is a popular event venue is named after Mathilde Karoline Friederike von Wittelsbach, the wife of Ludwig III. Comprising of the Hochzeitsturm and other exhibition buildings, today, it hosts a slew of workshops, local events, cultural programs, exhibitions and special shows.
Frankfurt Town Hall, as it stands today, is made up of a melee of different buildings. The first buildings to be constructed here were the Zum Römer House and the next-door guest-house, Goldener Schwan in 1405. At the beginning of the 20th Century, two building complexes (north and south) were erected next to Paulsplatz and were joined by a bridge. Designed in a Renaissance and Baroque architectural style, these buildings fit in well with the earlier buildings. They are decorated with reliefs depicting local events, such as the harvesting of cider apples. One particular draw is the exquisitely decorated Kaisersaal (Emperor's Hall) in the Rathaus (city hall). The Rathaus is the seat of the Mayor of Frankfurt.

The idyllic Holzhausen Castle is situated in the middle of a lake in Holzhausen Park. Built in 1727 to 1729, the castle was once the Holzhausen dynasty's country residence. The Rococo building changed hands when it was taken over by the city of Frankfurt in 1923. Tranquil and exuding a peaceful charm, the castle was designed by French architect Louis Remy de la Fosse with Flemish and Nordic inspired architectural styles. The castle and its lush grounds are used today primarily for social and cultural events.
Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt boasts of a great collection of natural history, which includes fossils and a mounted American mastadon, which is an extremely rare feature. The collection began way back in 1820, when Grand Duke Ludwig started collecting historic items and iconic artworks, these items still remain a part of the collection at the museum. The repository features archaeology, mineralogy, fine art, medieval art and more in its displays. A fabulous mixture of almost everything, it is a great place to explore and learn.

In the Middle Ages, this steep-roofed Gothic building was the center of Frankfurt's rag trade and was the place where cloth was stored, weighed and measured. At the outer wall you can still see the measuring cylinder used at the time, known as the Frankfurter Elle. The two-story house was built towards the end of the 14th Century, reputedly by the famous architect Madern Gerthener. After destruction during World War II, it was rebuilt in 1980 and now hosts an art gallery (the Kommunale Galerie) which shows rotating exhibitions by contemporary artists.
Surrounded by shrubbery and tall trees, Schlosspark has been the local hub for many activities. There are many events like musicals, concerts and other cultural programs held here. Adjacent to the castle nearby, this park is a place where few events of Langenselbold thrive. The park as well as castle are maintained by the Förderkreis Schloss Langenselbold e.V., a registered society.
Home to a historic 18th-century building is the local city museum- Stadtmuseum - Haus zum Löwen. Dedicated to educating visitors about the dynamic history of the city, the first floor of the establishment has several exhibits the focus on early life, housing, economic and cultural development. The basement houses a music exhibit of renowned German artists Amy Schlemm and Franz Peoples that belonged to this lovely city. The exhibit displays a documented account of their life, artistic careers and successes. Several music events also take place here. The attic is dedicated to European astronaut Thomas Reiter who lived in the city. Built reflecting outer space, the room serves ideal for educational programs for children.
An major tourist attraction of the city, Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Marienkirche Gelnhausen is also an important cultural center for the Protestant community of Gelnhausen. Simply mesmerizing, this 13th-century building is a fine combination of Romanesque and early-Gothic architecture. Suspected to be an extension of a former 12th-century church that stood in its place, the church transformed into its current facade as a result of several renovations and restorations over the years. Noteworthy elements of the church include the West tower, the 16.4 meter (53.8 feet) nave, ribbed vault, embellished choir and font and a distinguished lettner. The 15th-century high-altar and stained-glass windows too, are simply spellbinding. Other significant features include the organ, bells and church carpets.
The spectacular facade of Pfarrkirche St. Cäcilia is hard to miss as you walk down the Schloßstraße. The church has fascinating architecture reflecting Baroque designs. The church has an underground crypt that is the resting place of many notable local personalities. Dating back to the mid-17th Century, the church faced considerable damage during the Second World War and then later a fire caused destruction in 1902. The church was renovated and restored beautifully. The interiors have a charming, painted ceiling, an ornately decorated high altar and a spectacular pulpit.
Set against the backdrop of lush green forests, Evangelische Kirche am Limes is a small worship center that offers church services like sermons, marriages, baptisms and funerals. They also offer a variety of workshops and activities to church members of all ages.
