Klindt’s Booksellers is one of the oldest surviving bookstores in The Dalles. They opened their doors to the public in 1870 and have retained its original wooden floorboards, shelves, and storage spaces, taking us back in time. This longstanding fixture is a treat to book lovers, offering a wide range of books ranging from classic novels to medical books to comics. Apart from the assemblage of books, they have a diverse range of toys, gifts, and stationery, and their merchandise is currently available online as well. The Klindt’s is known to support and contribute to literary activities and is a major player in the steady increase of the literacy rates in the community.
