Fine cigars pack the humidor directly inside The Cigar Box, a bar and restaurant specializing in authentic Italian food. The chicken alfredo is delicious, and they have a great happy hour Monday through Friday from 4pm to 7pm. The clientele is a mixture of businessmen, women in evening gowns, and mid-twenty-year-olds in jeans and t-shirts. A Wayne Newton-ish deejay hosts karaoke Wednesday through Saturday. Classier than a bar next to a strip club should be, there is still a touch of good-natured seediness to this place, so parents might not want to bring their kids along. -Robin Sontheimer

Welcome to something dark and mysterious even though you might not feel it until you are way inside the place. And now there is no going back. The owner is trained in witchcraft and the interiors essentially reflect her interests. But don't get into the impression that it's all scary. You can enjoy a peaceful drink at Fat Matt's Vortex and the crowd here includes many regulars doing just that. The menu also has an occult touch with cocktails named as "Witches broom" and "Grog". And the former owner hangs around this place supposedly reincarnated as a cat, Fat Matt.
