Located in Hordaland, the Holmavatnet is a scenic lake in northern Kvamskogen. Located among the other lakes which form an entire district among the highlands, the lake is a beautiful sight with its surrounding woodlands and reflections of the hills on its waters. A part of the lake waters have been dammed in order to produce hydroelectricity for the region at the Kvittingen power plants.
Nestled in the hills in the vicinity of the city of Kvam, the Bjølsegrøvvatnet is a serene lake located at a height of 880 meters (2890 feet) above sea level. It lies near the Fyksesund fjord and is easily accessible from the village of Ålvik. There is a dam at one end of the lake to generate hydroelectric power at the Bjølvo power station. Visitors can enjoy the tranquility of the lake and the stunning mountain vistas here.
Offering some alluring views of the surrounding peaks and cliffs, Ringedalsvatnet is a tranquil lake in Odda municipality. The lake stretches up to an area of 7 square kilometers (2.7 square miles) and is found nearly 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) to the east of Tyssedal village. The spellbinding Trolltunga cliff is nestled atop the lake and provides scenic vistas. Ringedalsvatnet remains a popular hiking destination.
Henangervatnet is separated from Bjørnafjorden and Skogseidvatnet by a strip of land. The primary water source for this lake is Skogseidvatnet. It spans across 5.6 kilometers (3.48 miles). This inland water body is known for its rich population of trouts which includes rainbow trout as well. Fishing is allowed however not always.
Gjønavatnet is a lovely little lake with green hilly patches on both its sides. You can sit on its grassy shore and just soak in the scenery. Its main source of water is the nearby Skogseidvatnet. Unlike the other two lakes, this one is not a fishing lake.
Skogseidvatnet spreads across 5.8 kilometers (3.60 miles) and is the main source of water to the nearby Henangervatnet. Its primary water resources are Gjønavatnet and Orraelva. This inland water body is rich in lake trout and char. Fishing is only permitted if you have license for it.
