The best part of the Shake Shack, though, is their outdoor benches. Although rustic, these benches on the bluff top of a secluded area provide the best spot for sunset watching.

Duke Kahanamoku was (and still is) a Hawaiian icon and statesman. He ruled the waves as a surfer and subsequently introduced the sport to the rest of the world. In homage to the man, the original Duke's restaurant was created in Honolulu's Waikiki Outrigger Hotel and since then several other restaurants around California and Hawaii have opened. This one in Huntington Beach serves superb food sourced from sustainable and environmentally conscious vendors. The menu features both surf and turf options, some of which include the Tristan da Cunha Lobster Tails, Roasted Jidori Chicken and Red Pepper Seared Tofu for vegetarians. The cocktail menu is also just as enticing, where you will immediately feel as if you are in Waikiki after a taste of the Molokai Mule.

East Borough is nestled among hip and trendy retail stores inside the popular Camp shopping area. East Borough's menu fuses dishes that vacillate between the French and Vietnamese kitchens, for instance, the Pho Baguette and Pork Loaf Pate Banh Mi are superb examples of this. Salads, noodles, rice and spring rolls round out the rest of the menu while the Vietnamese coffee and Salted Plum Soda serve as perfect drinks to accompany the spicy, savory and sweet flavors.

This Ruby's Diner found at the end of Balboa Pier is the chain's very first establishment. In 1982, owners Doug Cavanaugh and Ralph Kosmides transformed an old bait shop into a 40's diner complete with red booths and malt machine. Since then the duo has opened restaurants in more than five other states, where the kitchen serves burgers, dogs and other American diner classics. This original on the pier is no different, although the views are probably the best ones out of the group.
