Davidson Galleries

Devout art-lovers participating in the First Thursday Art Walk must stop by this gallery to witness some of the most remarkable contemporary artworks. The gallery is committed to bringing forth the the local artist community while also being involved with nationally renowned artists. The focus is mainly on three faculties- painting and sculpture, contemporary print and drawing, and antique prints. SOIL Art Gallery

Another feather in the hat for the artsy neighborhood of Pioneer Square, just South of downtown, this gallery explores the culminating local art culture. Showcasing contemporary works in form of paintings, drawings, sculptures, light based works, wax art, chocolate art, interactive media and sound installations, this gallery has already created a name for itself locally and nationally. And the fact that this non-profit organization is owned and operated by a group of local artists (members) shows how progressive the burgeoning art is today.

Skansie Brothers Park

There is no dearth of lush green parks in the quaint town of Gig Harbor; however, the Skansie Brothers Park stands out among the mélange owing to its rich history. The Skansie Brothers were integral to the development and growth of the fishing community in the village. Christened after them, the park also comprises the historic Skansie Brothers Netshed and the Skansie Brothers House. Steeped in local heritage, this park is enveloped by prominent structures, making it an ideal destination for history buffs to head to. The verdant expanse of the park hosts a bunch of local events and a weekly farmers market, which is a renowned tourist magnet too. To soak in the true culture of Gig Harbor and learn about the lives of the legendary Skansie Brothers, one must head to the Skansie Brothers Park.

Hammering Man

Hammering Man is major sculpture located at various cities around the world. In Seattle, the statue is a major landmark and continues to attract many people and tourists. The statue was designed by Jonathan Borofsky, a celebrated artist in the region. Although the first few statues were developed in wood, soon many others were established in metal. Towering over 14.6 meters (48 feet) in Seattle, you can find it right opposite the Seattle Art Museum, composed out of steel.

Saint James Cathedral

Saint James Cathedral is located in the First Hill area, overlooking downtown Seattle. With its elegant facade and double steeples, the cathedral epitomizes quiet grace. Opened only on selected holy days, the two new bronze ceremonial doors, by renowned German artist Ulrich Henn, tell the story of the great procession of the human family towards the heavenly city. The cathedral holds a full schedule of services. Mass is offered several times a day all week.

Silver City Brewery

At Silver City Brewery, the goal is to produce brews that seasoned beer drinkers will find authentic and yet have their own, distinct touch. The beers manufactured here have become rather popular and in addition to the brewery, can be found at bars and restaurants across the Puget Sound region. If you want to enjoy original beers in a friendly atmosphere, then this is the place you want to be at.
