Housed in a beautifully restored blacksmith shop dating back to 1804, the Qaqortoq Museum of Greenland is a popular attraction the region with its rich display of local culture and history items. The permanent exhibition here shows artifacts from the Thule culture, the Dorset culture and the Norse culture along with reconstructed red and blue rooms where famous explorers such as Charles Lindberg and Knud Rasmussen have slept on their journeys. Temporary art shows by local and national artists are also hosted here.
