"Historic Red Brick Building"

Although the four-storied Briggs Hardware Building might seem minuscule compared to the structures of today, it indeed was once the tallest "skyscraper" in the city. Built in 1874, the building was owned by Thomas Briggs and was used to run the family hardware store. One of the last remnants of the city's 19th-century commercial buildings, this little red brick structure now stands as an important historical landmark.
