"Home of Reno's Founders"

A historic house located in downtown Reno, the Lake Mansion was the former home of Myron and Jane Lake, the city’s founders. Built in 1877, by architect W.J. Marsh, the house is a fine example of Italianate architecture, with its hipped roof, corbels, and arched windows, which are typical of this style of Classical architecture. The house was originally located at the corner of Virginia street and Kietzke street, and was later moved to the Court street by VSA Nevada, an organization that arranges arts events at the mansion, and which is housed inside the mansion. The Lake Mansion is on the National Register of Historic Places and is definitely worth a visit. See the website for more information.
