After years of waiting, the first opera house has finally opened in Cagliari. It is furnished in an elegant manner, imitating the style of the most important contemporary Italian theatres. The evening shows can vary from tragedies to comedies, and on the gala evenings you can see some of the most famous operas ever written, including works such as "La Traviata", "La Tosca", and "Il Rigoletto". Various singers also perform here, they vary from local talent, to world famous singers accompanied by the Cagliari Orchestra. Recently artists such as Andrea Boccellu and Katia Ricciarelli have played here.
