This quiet and elegant bar has wealth and success written all over it. It is impressive, but surprisingly, not intimidating. An added bonus is the fact that it is open late. The decor - mostly provided by the building itself - is stunning. It's an over-sized hall with an amazingly high ceiling supported by impressive columns (for which the bar is named). The live piano music adds a touch of elegance as visitors choose from a wide variety of drinks, including some of the highest quality. Occasionally there are special food offers and snacks available. Relish the feeling of relaxing in high-backed soft chairs with a drink in one hand and a cigar in the other. Obviously, all this luxury comes at a price.

Boathouse overlooks the Vistula River and used to be a real boathouse, thus the high ceilings and natural wooden beams. There are several large dining rooms to choose from, as well as fantastic outdoor seating. The food is beautifully presented. Pastas are excellent, as are the salads and desserts. The wine list is similar to its sister restaurant ( Blue Cactus) and features wines from Argentina, California and South Africa. Neither the food nor the drink comes cheap but all of it is top quality.

Stodola is one of Warsaw's few remaining students' clubs. It offers decent fun with good music and plenty to drink. The club has two levels: the upper story is somewhere to sit and talk or listen to music, while the lower serves as a dance chamber. There is a bar near the entrance which will astound you with the drink selection: beer, vodka, tequila and numerous cocktails - there are also plenty of soft drinks to choose from. The interior is covered with frantic, psychedelic designs in various colors, a true masterpiece of underground art. The musical offerings include rock, jazz, acid jazz and bits of techno. Some nights are devoted strictly to dance music.

Pub Lolek, which looks like a stone-age fort from the outside, is known locally as the "Flintstone Bar." Local bands perform regularly on a small stage. There is a large outdoor section, complete with a playground for the kids. A lot of people come here for the type of Polish food that they crave: grilled sausages and the like. Unusual dishes such as potato pancakes with tzatziki sauce and classic Polish bigos are also available. The drinks selection is extensive and includes beer and cocktails. A local beer costs around PLN8. Open all days of the week from around noon.

Klub Harenda tends to be a club in the winter and a beer hall in the summer. It has been popular for several years and attracts all types of people. There is an outdoor patio which has the feel of a picnic area and a downstairs section with more of a club-like feel. Lots of beer, mixed drinks, cocktails and wine are on offer along with a food menu. Periodically, Klub Harenda features live music in its rotation, and it seems as though the management is constantly at war with the neighbors over the noise levels.

This pub is a part of the international chain of the same name. This location has a wonderful terrace with excellent views. The food menu - which is often overlooked - is well worth trying. The decor is both classic and comfortable, resembling an old-fashioned English pub. The restaurant is divided into several small sections which are conducive to intimate meals. There is also an outdoor terrace which is extremely pleasant in the summer. The menu here is creative, with food that is much better than you might expect from a pub. Dishes include pub-style favorites and there are several vegetarian options. The beer selection is also very good, as is the choice of other drinks.
