"A Tourist Favourite"
At the corner of Bankastræti and Lækjargata, this excellent restaurant is a tourist favorite. Cozy and usually rather crowded, it still manages to be peaceful and dignified. The interior design reflects the age of the house, which is situated in a row of the oldest buildings in Reykjavík, called the Bernhöftstorfan. The restaurant building is a 1885 timber-frame, originally a bakery. Apart from the main restaurant there are two banquet rooms/halls for groups. The menu consists of traditional Icelandic cuisine, with emphasis on fish and lamb.
