Established in the year 1872 by Sigfús Eymundsso, a noted bookbinder and photographer of Iceland, Eymundsson is counted as one of the oldest bookstore chains of the country. What started out as a small publishing house promoting works of local Icelandic writers and poets, blossomed into one of the busiest book shops over the years. This Eymundsson outlet finds itself on the busy Skólavörðustíg street and sells an exhaustive collection of English and Icelandic titles, souvenirs and magazines. A small coffeehouse inside the store offers a tranquil setting for book worms to unravel their favorite novels over a cup of hot coffee.

BT - Hafnarfjörður is BT's local branch in Hafnarfjörður. The store being somewhat smaller than its Reykjavík flagship store, the variety of goods is not quite as impressive. It is, however, a good place to go for all the more common stuff. BT - Hafnarfjörður stocks TV-sets, video recorders, personal computers, DVD equipment and GSM phones. All the most popular games software is also offered in the shop.
