Located in the Hanover Tavern, a historic landmark, Michelle's offers traditional southern cuisine focusing in local and regional ingredients. As part of the Hanover Tavern, Michelle's features four unique dining areas. Our spacious patio, the plantation like Veranda, the elegantly rustic Montgomery room, and the casual Wooden Door Pub. Walk-ins are always welcome but reservations are recommended on the weekends. The Barksdale Theatre is featured at the Hanover Tavern offering patrons an evening of dining and entertainment. The theater is recognized nationally as Central Virginia's leading professional theater. The historical Hanover Tavern has welcomed travelers on the road from Washington to Richmond have stopped at this site since 1733. Part of the original building remains, but most of the present tavern was built in 1780. It has endured as a stagecoach stop, a tavern and an inn.
