Owensboro’s Sassafras Tree

Visit this unusual attraction that stands on Frederica Street, Owensboro, Kentucky. With a towering height of 100 feet (30.48 meters) and 21 feet (6.40 meters) wide, Sassafras Tree is the largest known tree of its kind in the world. Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial

Lincoln Interpretive Center

The Lincoln Interpretative Center offers a glimpse of the boyhood of the 16th President of America to the general public. It features forests, verdant hills, 10 miles (16 kilometers) of hiking trails, and two picturesque lakes. Young Lincoln stayed at this state park that covers over 1747 acres (706 hectares) of land, and this is exactly the place where the former president learned the majority of his early lessons in life. It is the perfect destination for groups to learn and explore nature, which is also equipped with cottages and lakeside campgrounds. The center also arranges for seasonal programs that feature natural history exhibits.
