"About Rome"
This museum is dedicated to the art and history of the city of Rome, from the Middle Ages to the first half of the 20th century. It was inaugurated in 1930, but only in 1952 did the Museo di Roma move its collections to the prestigious seat of Palazzo Braschi, just around the corner from Piazza Navona. Museo di Roma reopened in 2002 after much restoration. The Museum houses ceramics, more than 250 historical garments and costumes, furniture, carriages and sedan chairs (including the one that belonged to the Braschi family), plus hundreds of engravings and paintings depicting various views of Rome in the past centuries. The Museum also hosts the Municipal Photographic Archives. The photos portray the changes the city has undergone over the last 150 years. - Maria Frullini
