Abbaye Sainte Marie de Pierredon

A 13th-century structure, Abbaye Sainte Marie de Pierredon lies ensconced in the verdant bliss of the French countryside. An erstwhile Chalais abbey, the building is a fine example of the Renaissance style of architecture. It's surrounded by a beautiful garden and is accentuated by arched doorways, an expansive courtyard, and a conspicuous bell tower. Currently used as a winery, this is one of the best places in the region to sample delicious wines while losing one's self to the serenity of the environs.
