Iglesia del Hospital de Dolores
"Rich Artistic Heritage"
This church contains a wealth of valuable paintings and reliefs, including works like "El Sueño de San José" by Cristóbal Hernández de Quintana, "Ecce Homo" in the style of the Canary Islands School and the "Crucificado con la Virgen y San Sebastián". The latter was one of the first paintings brought to the island. There's also an outstanding 17th century painting of the birth of Christ. The church itself is a straightforward example of Canary Islands religious architecture with a single nave. Most of it dates from the 18th century but the beautifully carved stone doorway dates from the 17th century.
